the soul team
jamie (mcfall) bell, owner
Hi, i’m Jamie! The owner of Soul Yoga and an experienced Registered Yoga Teacher E-RYT-500 through Yoga Alliance. From the very first time I stepped on my mat in 2013, I instantly fell in love with the practice of yoga. I vividly remember leaving my second class with this deep feeling that one day I would own my own space (a little crazy, i know) and here we are. I graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelors's degree in Communication & a minor in Entrepreneurship in 2015. I’m extremely passionate about continuing education and will forever be a dedicated yoga student as well as a teacher. Nothing feeds my soul more than holding space for others to experience this healing practice. Opening Soul Yoga has truly been a dream come true for me to say the least.
I found this practice during a very trying time in my life, as I was struggling with anxiety and depression as well as severe back pain. Shortly after I was diagnosed with Scoliosis (curvature of the spine) I knew it was time to step out of my comfort zone and try something new, like yoga. Thankfully, I finally found a safe space to explore, grow, & be the most raw version of myself without feeling judged. With a consistent yoga practice for about 9 years now, I can happily say that I have virtually zero daily back pain, as well as very limited anxiety.
My purpose here at Soul has been to create a space where EVERYONE feels welcome, safe, supported & seen. “Come as you are, come feed your soul."

Heather Bowman, instructor
Hi, I am Heather! I suppose as many others yoga found me. I was searching for something new when I decided to take my first yoga class. From that day forward yoga became my lifestyle. Early on I noticed not only feeling better physically but a change in my mood and even how I thought about myself and how I treated others. My practice quickly became a daily routine. Early on I knew it was my calling to share this passion for a vibrant life with others, so I finished my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at UpDog Yoga in Rochester Michigan. I am currently enrolled in my 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training through Yoga Medicine a blend of Eastern philosophy and Western medicine. I value a diverse physical practice. I love everything from a quiet Yin to a steamy Vinyasa! My goal is to create a space for yoga students to find what it is that this practice can offer them. I hope to see you on the mat!

Pam Burgess, instructor
I’m Pam! I started my yoga journey about 20 years ago practicing Ashtanga Yoga. I first began my practice for the physical benefits, but soon found that Yoga also made me calmer, kinder, and more content. Wanting to share my passion for Yoga, I completed my yoga teacher training at CorePower Yoga in Boulder, Colorado in 2008. I began teaching at Yoga in the Woods in Goodrich, Michigan in 2009. I am an E-RYT 200 and RYT 500 through Yoga Alliance. My goal as a teacher is to help you find peace, strength, and acceptance through your practice. I am excited to share my love of Yoga with the Soul Yoga community.

Kristen Wesley, instructor
Hello! I’m Kristen! Mother of three beautiful girls, lover of life, nature, essential oils, and of course Yoga!
I was first introduced to Yoga in college and fell in love with the practice! I knew there was something truly special about what yoga had to offer and I was eager to learn more.
After becoming a mother (my first in 2014 and twins in 2016!) I was searching for a space where I could reconnect with myself, deepen my practice and find a sense of peace amidst the craziness of my day-to-day. I was blessed to have found Soul! The space, the community, and the practice helped me to find my light again! I wanted to spread that light, learn, and continue to grow, and felt teaching was the path I needed to follow. I completed my training in fall 2018 with Maureen Bosker of Yoga in the Woods and Jamie at Soul and began teaching right away, eager and ready to share!
I absolutely love the passion the Soul community has for this practice and am so excited to be a part of this amazing and supportive family! See you on the mat!

Jamie Ford, instructor
By viewing the practice of yoga as medicine, Jamie curiously & playfully links the practice on the mat to find a balance in life off the mat. A constant student, 'Jam' often finds herself diving deep into human behaviors, sensations, & consciousness. This curiosity comes to life as an asana practice that is never the same, neither right nor wrong, but constantly unfolding and shifting.
Her teaching style allows each student to realize they are in fact their own teacher, by using the postures as means of awareness of breath & movement. Each class she offers is an invitation to move freely, and dig deep to release tension both in the physical body & the noisy mind.
Off the mat, Jam thrives in her career in the financial industry, as well as getting her hands dirty on her budding organic practice produce farm with her husband. Dogs + Garlic are her love language. Each life experience helps link the practice of yoga to awareness of every aspect of health and wellness.
Let's move together

Erin Keros, Front Desk & Instructor
Hi! My name is Erin. I found yoga and Soul at a time in my life when I was missing something but couldn’t figure out what. Yoga kept coming up in my daily search to find what that missing piece was. After reading about the practice and its many benefits, I felt the first spark of possibility. Looking for local classes, I found Soul and fighting back my self-doubt, I signed up for a Candlelight Flow on a snowy January night. I felt at home from the first time I stepped into the studio. Truly. Almost like those candles lit my way, and from that first deep breath to that first sweet savasana, I knew that this practice was my key. My path back to mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual balance is all rooted in a place of love and immediate acceptance. It turns out what I was missing was the connection to myself.
It's been four years since that first time on my mat, and with almost 900 classes, workshops, festivals, retreats, and countless friends, mentors, and true gurus, I have never felt more authentically myself and grateful beyond measure! And while there are always places to go and work to be done, yoga helps remind me that today, I am enough. And so are you!
I am so excited to have recently finished my YTT 200 with Jamie Bell at Soul, and I am now part of the Soul Teaching Team! I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to introduce and share this practice with others. It is a dream I realized on my mat, and I can only hope to help others clear away some noise, so they can breathe and listen to their dreams too.
In finding Soul, I was able to reconnect with mine, and I hope you will too! Welcome to the community!
Namaste

Gwen McDonald, Instructor
Hi, I’m Gwen! I’m a mother of two amazing girls and love yoga, lifting weights, and spending time with my family. I’m also a full-time Engineering Recruiter. If I’m not working, you will find me at the studio, gym, or hanging out with my family.
I found yoga in the summer of 2016; after encouragement from my husband. I showed up for my first class looking for something physical only to later discover it was the mental clarity and the peacefulness that kept me coming back to my mat.
In December 2017 I received my 200 RYT certification from The Yoga Path in Davison and currently studying for my 500 hour here at Soul Yoga. I am also a certified children’s yoga instructor, 95 RCYT.
Yoga has helped me work through and let go of experiences from my past and it helps keep my mind here in the now. Because of yoga, I’m a better Mother with a lot more patience (breathe), I speak kinder, I have more confidence in myself, I see situations/things differently but most importantly, it has taught me to love myself and to honor my body. My stress and anxiety aren’t like they used to be and I’m so thankful for that.
Yoga provides us with such incredible potential as humans, the ability to be humbled, and the comfort of finding gratefulness in our own stillness. My goal is to make sure everyone reaches their highest potential and maintains a peaceful mind and body.

Rachel Money, instructor
Hi hi! I’m Rachel! I’m a yogi, dog mama, hiker & adventurer! My yoga journey began in 2010 at Central Michigan University where I took all 4 semesters of yoga classes offered there. Soul was the first studio I ever practiced at, and where I completed teacher training. Being welcomed as a teacher here really does feel like coming home for me. It’s safe to say that I’m deeply committed to the ever-evolving path of yoga, and it is my greatest honor to share this practice. I believe that your best teacher can be found at the altar of your own heart. I hope to see you on the mat- let’s practice being free!

Julia Wozny, Instructor
My name is Julia Wozny, and I’ve been teaching and practicing yoga since 2016 after graduating from high school and starting college at Central Michigan University. I was first certified through YogaFit to teach in the residence halls on campus. In 2018, I completed my 200-hour YTT at Brighton Yoga Center, where I taught during the summer of 2019. In 2020, I received my 300-hour YTT with a specialization in Ayurveda from Peoples Yoga, LLC, at Redbloom Yoga in Mount Pleasant. I taught yoga at Redbloom between 2019 and 2021. The pandemic allowed me to continue teaching online even though I originally planned to leave Redbloom when I graduated college in 2020. I graduated from CMU with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Visual Arts Education and a minor in American Sign Language. I am now a full-time elementary art teacher and artist. I always knew I was supposed to be an artist, but I didn’t know I wanted to be a teacher until after I started practicing and teaching yoga. Yoga is what has inspired me to inspire others. I have battled with anxiety and depression for most of my life, and yoga is what set me free (and continues to set me free!) My yoga teaching style is free-flowing and philosophical. I love to teach a class that is intense both physically and spiritually. My goal is to empower yogis to listen to their bodies, acknowledge their strength, and honor their truth.
